Reading up on our next opponents, and I couldn't help but notice that sexism reared its ugly head - once again.
Apparently, Paul Jewell (Ipswich manager) had a right go at one of the linos when his side were denied a 'stonewall' penalty against Brum on Wednesday night. (Ips lost 1-2 away).
By some accounts, that person running the line had a 'great view' of Lee Martin being 'tumbled' by Steven Caldwell, nine minutes to go with the scores one apiece.
That same lino was the centre of another incident, in 2006, resulting in the-then Luton boss Newell being fined £6,5000 for his comments.
And who is this 'lino'?
One Amy Fearn, then known by her maiden name of Amy Rayner.
Now, that reminds me : didn't we have a 'female linesperson' at a couple of our games a year or so back?
If I remember correctly, Wee Ollie had nowt but good words for her when she officated on our patch a week or so after the event which resulted in them two guys being dumped by SKY TV...?.
Her name escapes my right now, but it does raise the question of - have we got any 'female linespersons' at any of our games between now and season end?

Its not about what sex the linesman is but how good they are. If PJ has an issue with a linesmans decision then fair do's (it was about a stone wall penalty at Brum) but to say that the (non) decision was because the linesman was a woman it just stupid. Believe it or not girls fly aeroplanes thesedays, make good doctors, and even go to war. More "life and death" jobs than that of a linesman. PJ needs to wake up and realise that Women go to footy too.
