Well it sounded good, must have been a lot better being there so will expect a report very soon. What a result to start the New Year off, but all credit to the squad and manager for turning round the Saturday result in such a great way and within such a short time lapse. Now I have to ask the question, unless I have missed something what is the story re MacManaman? Anyway great result look forward to reading all about it, next up a little cup run and I do believe we are only 1 pt off the playoff zone.

Great result, sounded like a good team performance and Angel had a good game too by all accounts, especially as he has not had a lot of 1st team outings. If we can now just get some consistency, i believe we have the players to jump us up the league in double quick time. P.s i saw Boggy scored for Rochdale today, didn't even know he'd left.

Whit, correct me if I'm wrong, but Mac goes back to Wigan today - could be unlikely they will lett him to go back out on loan considering, and despite of, what he has achieved in his time at BR.
A few injuries, etc at W?

I shall have to stop listening to the matches - heard the whole of Brum and we lost, missed most of 'boro and heard 3-0 when I got in the car. The whole table has really tightened up after today's results - could turn on one or two performances. Agree with tangerinerob that consistency is the answer.

Consistency and a couple of hard-case defenders (a la Ron Yeats, or George Young) would be an even better answer.
Welcome to the Board, Armchair- another 'Golden Oldie', eh?

Great Game and great result. Would have settled for a draw after the Birmingham game but with the pool its like a forest gump box of chocs. Hard to name a MOM but Angel, Ince, Lua Lua, Cathcart and Matty were on fire today. A stone wall Penalty after a push on Lua lua but Matty put things right minutes later. They simply couldn't handle our pace on the break and, midfield were more creative and options everywhere. Defensively looked pretty solid too.
The last 15 mins the Boro had nowhere to go as they were too scared of Matty and Toms pace so couldn't push up.. A comfortable win in the end. There's no-one to fear in this league.
Can't see Ollie leaving Ince out of the first team for a while and Barry F will have to work hard to get back as an automatic. Happy days!!

A great performance. It just shows how Gtf should've been left out months ago.
The front three were great with their pace and trickery and the Middlesbrough defence were scared to death.
I'd love to see those three start against Fleetwood. We will tear them to shreds but knowing Ollie he will play Ormerod, GTF and Clarke.
Angel was good and the midfield played well.
Btw I am the proud owner of one ticket for the match on Saturday. :-)

Ted, if I may be so impolite as to request of you to continue your match scribes , a la 606....
a lot of us miss them, you know.
(in between your duties of nappy-changing and feeds, of course) ;D
Cheers.

I will do if you like.
Slight problem at the moment in that my PC has died and I don't fancy typing up a report on my iPhone.

What a fab way to start the New Year, as exciting footy as I've seen in quite a while. I think Ollie won the battle of the managers, he set up to play passing footy against a skilful side, one of those unusual days when we didn't need BF and Gnasher's grit. Only one bad tackle all day, their N0 17 on LouLou. Anyway, Mowbrey was obviously scared of the LouLou threat, as there were 3 on him at all times near the penalty area. This then provided the space for Matty and Incy. First half, pretty even, great to watch. If I can question one thing, always deferring to Ollie of course, young Incy has amazing speed, but against a fluid passing side, he was knocked off the ball too easily. Maybe games against the hoofball park the bus types will give him more chance to get through defences to collect through balls. Second half, it felt only a matter of time, and it came, first Matty, and then the celebration king ( I wince when he does that!!!!!) Then a cast iron, put your pension on penalty shout where three of them bundled LouLou to the ground, not given. Haven't actually checked the official version for who scored the third, their defence was totally panicked, looked like they put it in before we did? After that, you felt another could arrive at any time as they were cut time and again by Matty. After the subs, Boro were really pushing forward for a short while, but a great over the top ball towards KP on the edge of the area convinced them to drop deep again. Incy then really earned his keep with the ball being pumped down the right, holding it and trying to beat 2 defenders. So, a great display, defence as solid as I've seen it, Angel (who?) and Sylvestre helping out ( pleased to see the latter get his boot in, Bash calm. Lou Lou is great at holding up the ball, very low centre of gravity and streetwise, I know people want him to be more direct, but he makes space for the others. I saw him pointing where he wanted Matty to be several times, defended occasionally, great to see at least 2 of the front three swapping around again and again. Thought Macca had already gone back, obviously not, again the subs were spot on in keeping the pressure on. Boro fans quite noisy till we scored, to be fair they did wake up again after the third, fair play. As I was leaving down Bloomfield Road, they were singing the shxthxle version of Best Trip, best response I heard was " Middlesboro is hardly Venice, is it?" Cracking game, cracking result, no one to fear if they are the best. Happy days are here again Blinkin cold though, wasn't it? Ollie Mourinhio Edited to add What a pleasure it was to see the legend that is George Wood warming the goalies up

It was a fantastic game even though the ref and linesman on the west did the best they could to spoil it.
Now unless they have changed the rules of offside i could have sworn your offside when the ball is played and not when it lands and a player is clear and through on goal grrrrrr
