So with the season entering into the final turn now just how important do you think the next 3 games are?
Personally i think we need to beat West ham and Hull at home and get something from Bristol away.
getting 2 wins from our next 2 home games and automatic promotion is a good possibility lose both and its going to be the playoffs at best, never one to really believe in must win games i really do think we need to win.
So what can Ian do to counter the west ham hoof football game which is probably best suited method at the moment on our pitch, do we change our style of play and do the same or do we stick to what has worked for the best part of the season so far.
Now after reading what other people had said about Ian and the squad this weekend just consider the following and yes some people can say its his job but just glad to have so many options.
Does he stop the Lua Lua experiment and but him back as one of the front 3 and not in midfield? Does Kevin go back to a coming of the bench role?
KP needs service into the box to be most effective or does he go for the big man small man up front?
Does Evo come back into the back 4 to resume a defensive partnership with Cathcart knowing they understand each other or does he continue with Wilson on the left because he is left footed?
When you start to go through all the options two things spring to mind, First our squad is stronger in depth than before and secondly its not easy being Ollie at the moment.
Those still with a FA cup hangover shit happens but for god sakes keep the faith in Ian and the Boys

I am afraid I don't share your thoughts re automatic/play off position. Any of the top 9 will fight it out and the next three games just as hard as the remaining 12. In fact in March, Reading away and Southampton at home will be the moments of truth and although agree and I have said it before, the squad is probably better than we have ever had, we miss one or two quality players in vital positions. Bednar is either not fit, in which case he shouldn't be playing except for 20mins max, in my mind we had a big striker last season who we let go and scored a few goals, whatever happened to him? Lua Lua without doubt up front and Ollie telling him to look for one of the other 9 outfield players so he can make a pass sometimes. Evo, can be a bit heavy handed but I still think with Cathcart, Baps and Crainey our best back four, and in midfield Fergusson, Sylvestre with options and up front MP, L L and Ince with KP as a sub. I think we will end up just outside the playoffs and on reflection considering the talent we have lost from last season, CA, DJ, DV, JP, LV, and more recently Grandin, I think Ollie has done wonders thus far. The keeper position worries me the most, the defence, like last year has it's moments, especially at corners and free kicks and although Howard stepped in and was very good, if anything happened now to Gilks, I would dread the outcome. In answer to your question Sherlock, the next 15 games are all just as important, just that some of them will be that much harder.
Edit. The striker last year was Marlon Harewood, who has joined Notts F. following a 6 month stint in China.

I am more concerned about Olly downsizing to a mini house on much smaller rent, packing the chickens and kids off back darn sarf. I think he is see-ing this position now as more of a short term one. He has delivered (far)more than expected, I do believe we will make the play-offs again with this team, and maybe we will go back up. However, I think his frustration with Oyston over the things he earmarked early on as not good enough may just be niggling away and spoiling his enjoyment of the job. He is still only on a rolling contract....... I don't think he will be here in 18 months time.

If we want automatic then we should concider all our remaining home games as "must win".
For me its play offs and hope we don't get Birmingham.
Went to watch West Ham vs Soton last week as I was working nearby and bored. £41 a ticket though was a stinger!
The Saints completely dominated (admitedly against 10 men) by slick passing and movement and if it wasn't for Rob Green they would have lost by a hat full. I would say they even looked panicy and somewhat bereft of ideas going forward. They were physical though and for me we shouldn't play Ince at least until the 2nd half. We need a tough back line, with Evatt, and pace up front. I would go Matty, Lua Lua and Dicko with KP and Bednar on the bench as plan B. Their defence was big but not quick and definately open for a counter.
Really looking forward to this one. Sticking to my 3-2 prediction.
We need to be on our game tomorrow and not get into long balls to Bednar. If we play like we can, dominate the midfield, then we'll be OK

Would like to see Bednar giving a chance tomorrow and before anyone starts , he's more than a target man to lump up to, granted he's good in the air and with pace and quality down the flanks will provide the crosses for him to get on to, but WH will be physical and so do we need to be, but also our pace can really catch them out. To be honest i think WH are pretty toothless upfront and rely heavy on their midfield, so if Ollie can match them up and pack the midfield, ithink we can get a result, if we can best WH and Brizzle City automatic promotion is a real possibility.

Gosh, no wonder Ollie does things differently, you are all making realy good points, how to decide ??
Mine : Crainey Evo Cathy Baps Fergie Sylvo Gnasher luLu MP Dicko
Subs KP Bednar Bash Incey Wilson
I think the defence is going to need both Fergie and Gnasher to get into their big boys, no reflection whatever on how well Bash is playing, I'd just have a tougher mid. I'd pick Dicko over Incey at the moment, purely cos I see him as being AT THE MOMENT a bit more direct. I think LU Lu's tricks up front will unsettle a defence already having sending off nightmares, and if we have to chase a game, KP and Beds has got to be game changers.
Simples!!!! LOL

nearly all of our home games are asgain top half opposition, whereas most of out away games are against teams in the bottom half. we need to average 2 points a game to have a chance at automatic promotion, so too early for must mins but 6 or 7 points from the next 3 would be fine. 5 at a push.
