The pub Landlady who won a case at the European Court regarding using oversees decoders, has now also won at the High court. Apart from a bit of Shenanigans about making sure the PL logos don't appear, I guess many pubs will be looking at this, reducing PL income drastically. Maybe another nail in the coffin of the financially unsustainable Premier League www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-17150054

I am pleased as strange as that sounds its about time the consumer had a choice i remember years ago that the BBC where forced to off load most of its sports content and bid for short term contracts as in 1 or 2 years max because it was deemed unfair the monopoly they had on events and now Sky sports hold the monopoly on sports.
If they made it more affordable more people would sign up to them but you have to have this and that to get the sport package.
As for the premier league it might just mean clubs now have to behave and act responsibly, i noticed the other day united had cut the debt against the club by 30 million so if they are trying to reduce the debt i dread to think what other clubs situations is like

I don't think this will affect match attendances, however, do think that it will lead to a massive shake up in the way TV rights are sold, and also reduce the amount bid.
This could seriously afect those Premier League clubs who have borrowed against future TV payments to subsidise their vast wages budgets.
Teams like Blackburn, Bolton and Wigan may really struggle to service those debts with future payments not guaranteed.
Other teams in the CCC who are banking on a swift return to PL payments might have to re-adjust their budgets to cope with the possibiliity of them not being there when/if they return.....and I do think we will see more Portsmouths soon.
It will be an interesting time in the top two divisions
