So, guys and gals, how do you reckon we're doing?
Our defence seems to have finally found it's mojo. I think Crains is unlucky, but Bob Harris is a revelation, and seeing him start to go forward as well, great. Baps has never lost it, Evo seems to be happier and more committed. I have never been that convinced about Eards, but he does seem to be delivering, well done him, and it is handy having someone who can hit a dead ball like he can, even if he has not been on target yet. Cathy and Crains in reserve
Gnasher's return galvanised the mid, but I am strangely optimistic without him, because he has again shown how important it is to have at least two hard tackling mids. Angel has been a revelation, I can give him no higher accolade than he is now filling the David Vaughan role, Fergie needs to be more vocal and pushing on. Dobbie, I hope he can continue with his form, a big ask when you consider how little playing time he has had this year. Sylvo in reserve.
Matty and Incey both back in form and tackling back like demons, which has made a major impact, Incey particularly cute around the box, get in and fall over, smashing ! I hope GTF has recovered, becasue his energy and mobility is the other bit of the jigsaw, it allows Matty and Incey to be unpredictable with their positioning. Not sure where we are with cover, is KP fit, are any of the development boys ready again? ( if Angel and Bob can do it, maybe)
Now for the bit where I will get
Our top scorer, third highest in the League, I don't think he should start, and I think we have improved without him. He is undoubtedly a brilliant striker, his step off and lobbed shot was world class, he scares the heck out of all the opposition. BUT
Ollie's success has been with a strike force which can change position, tackle back to our own penalty area, generally confuse the heck out of the opposition cos man marking pulls the defenders out of position. He is a top player, possibly the most clinical striker I have seen at B/R for the last 40 years, but I'm not sure it allows us to play to our strength. Of course, if Bednar hadn't been injured, and they could have played together, might have a different view.
So what do you think, have we got the firepower to get to the playoffs, can we beat two of our bogey teams if we do, would Cardiff get revenge?
Still the best Trip for me, long may it continue
