Did we really need this story this week i ask? surely the only focus this week is next Saturday
BLACKPOOL FC chairman Karl Oyston today whipped up Wembley fever – then called on council chiefs to back the club’s growth.
The Seasiders boss is thrilled that the team is heading to the May 19 play-off final, but said the club needed more help from Blackpool Council to realise long-term Premier League ambitions.
Crucially he wants to get his hands on council-owned land off Rigby Road – next to Bloomfield Road – to allow for “stadium or community expansion.”
Without that land – currently earmarked for social housing – he fears the club may eventually be forced to quit its historic home after 125 years.
Oyston said: “The club has expanded and it needs to work very closely, as it has done in the past, with the council and the community of Blackpool to keep expanding the club.
“The knock-on effect of this club expanding and growing is massive and it shouldn’t be under-stated.
“We intend to have high-level meetings with the council to discuss future progress and expansion, and we’re hopeful the council will assist us in so much as we would really like to get our hands on the site next door.
“It gives us some room for expansion and safe-guards us for the future.”

Let Ollie deal with the team and Karl pile some pressure on the council. It can only demonstrate that we have plans and ambition. Gotta send the right message to the players too.
That eyesore next to the ground needs sorting out and is perfect for BFC. Time for the council to appreciate what BFC have done for the town.

can not see the council being that helpful to the club probably to busy thinking of new ways to waste even more money on stupid artwork or building things people don't use.
