Blackpool chairman Karl Oyston has told talkSPORT that it will be a tough task for his side to beat West Ham in the Championship play-off final.
The Tangerines qualified for the Wembley showpiece on May 19 after beating Birmingham City 3-2 on aggregate.
But having lost 4-1 and 4-0 to the Hammers during the season it would appear that Ian Holloway and his charges will find it difficult to beat Sam Allardyce’s side and win promotion back to the Premier League at the first attempt.
Oyston told the Sports Bar: “[West Ham] are very, very good and I think that they have been probably one of the best sides in the division and should have gone up automatically.
“They’re a good club and Sam [Allardyce] has got them playing very, very well. They’re ostensibly a Premier League team and it’ll be a big task but I’m sure Ian [Holloway] and the players will rally themselves and we will put our best foot forward.”
Meanwhile, Oyston has admitted that he doesn’t get involved with manager Ian Holloway’s running of the first team like other chairmen might – because he doesn’t know a lot about football.
He added: “I spoke to Ian when he was in the bath [on Wednesday afternoon] on my way down to [Birmingham City]. He told me how he was going to play, what he was going to do and who the team were.
“I know not a lot about the football and I acknowledge that unlike most chairmen. I will never express an opinion.”
