No doubt ted will be at the front of the que for tickets lol ;D ;D ;D ;D
Keith Southern will mark 10 years in tangerine by facing his former club Everton in a testimonial at Bloomfield Road on Sunday 5 August.
The midfielder, who has made 353 appearances for Blackpool and scored 30 goals, started his career as a professional at Goodison Park but never made an appearance for the first-team.
The 31-year-old joined The Seasiders, initially on loan, in 2002 and has been a key player in the side ever since, achieving two promotions - one to The Championship and one to The Premier League - during that time.
"It's fantastic news and I can't thank Blackpool enough for giving me the opportunity to have a testimonial and Everton for kindly coming down to play the game," Southern said.
"When the club first offered me a possible testimonial Everton were the first and only choice I wanted really. I spent five or six fantastically happy years at the club as a young boy and I've still got many friends there.
Testimonials are becoming quite rare in the modern game, yet Southern insists that he's never thought about leaving for pastures new during his time at the club.
"I don't think there's much loyalty in the game these days so it's very seldom that a player spends that sort of time with a club. I'm probably one of a dying breed of people that have spent 10 years at one particular club. I've never really wanted to go anywhere else while I've been at Blackpool, I've never needed to because we've stepped up through the divisions.
"The club has always matched my ambition and I'd like to think that I've given good service and good value over the years. I think it has been a fantastic relationship over 10 years," he added.
Further details regarding the fixture, including ticket prices, will be announced in due course.
