Oh dear, what have I done? I am a lifelong Seasider and bleed Tangerine. Been going since I was eight years old and am now sixty four. I have been to nearly every League ground in the country watching our beloved team and to many which are now non league. I have had a season ticket for a long time with a seat I couldnt better. When the last renewal date for season tickets loomed large, for some reason I found myself hesitating and thinking long and hard about whether to indeed renew. I didnt renew. Friends and family cant believe it and it hasnt sunk in with me yet. and horror all round really. I cant really put my finger on why I let my season ticket go. There were many irritations with plastic fans last season and I fell out with quite a few. I know I shouldnt but I cant help myself sometimes. Misguided passion on my part? I'm not sure but I just hate it when "fans" slag Ollie or the team off after all they have given us over the last few years. Its their perogative though because as the cliche goes, "they have paid their money so can say what they want." Really? Perhaps I dont want to go through that again. Ironic isnt it if fellow Seasiders help to drive you away. A lot of them just seem a different breed these days. Hey ho! Another thing is that after watching a mostly unsuccessful team for decades to suddenly find yourself supporting a successful one has been a bit of a culture . Has anybody else found that? On the one hand it is brilliant but on the other hand it releases a new set of emotions that I find hard to deal with. Whereby I was always used to disappoinment watching our team so it didnt really matter I now find myself quite gutted when it goes wrong. It almost amounts to stress after a visit to Bloomers these days, sometimes even when we win. Very, very strange. So, it remains to be seen how I go on next season after all these years spent down at Bloomfield Road. Will I cope or will I kick myself all the way off North Pier. I took a golf membership out at North Shore to hopefully keep me sane. Hope it helps. Can I still hold my head up on here after my confessional? Still got a massive passion for our beloved club, just too bloody much of it maybe. Hope this makes sense. UP THE POOL

Well, you could knock me down with a feather!! But I do understand what you are saying, we now have such a huge expectation of success, Ollie has proven this season that getting to the Prem wasn't a fluke, and society in general, which is all the Blackpool fans are reflecting, expects reward and perfection NOW You only have to visit other message boards to see how much unintelligent rubbish is spouted alongside some great stuff. It has to be black or white, for Ollie or against, for Karl or against, whereas in reality, life is different shades of grey. I sit on my own sometimes in quiet despair at the rubbish and abuse shouted by some at our key players, I know you and the Posse get involved, and good luck to you. Reckon you'll be back buying a few tickets here and there, and maybe enjoying it all over again. As a total aside, the golf club will be no escape, getting off the train at Euston on the way to Wembley, I started chatting to a Tangerine who works part time as a Chef at North Shore Golf Club, think her kids go to school at that big primary near you, there is no escape! Hope you will keep giving us your wisdom on here, place would be a lot duller without your passion for all things Tangerine.

I know what you mean in some respect its a very fine line to tread.
Some days i sit at bloomers and long for the old dark days when we were rubbish probably because you felt more part of a small hand full wishing the team on to greater things.
Some days now like you sandgrown'un i get fed up of the newer fans who sit and moan and get at the players and maybe sometimes they do deserve it, but then i stop and think of the thirty years of pain i have watched and realize just how lucky i am to be watching the team over the last few years.
(yes only 30 years just a junior compared to some tangerines)
But the one thing i love more than anything and this will sound soft, is watching the joy and excitement on my young lads face as he watches the pool with me, knowing full well that he is addicted already too the men in tangerine.
I try and stay away from the other forums as i find myself getting mad at some of stupid stuff that goes on and the which camp are you in mentality.
That's why i like our little forum hideout we are only a small group but we all have different opinions but at least it does not end up in a all out slanging match if their are things we don't agree on.
Yes its quiet at the moment on here but then i don't know about the rest of you i am just trying to forget about footy for a month to recharge the batteries before we start again.
I am sure you will be back at bloomers sandgrown'un and of course we will always be happy to help getting tickets etc should you need them.
I truly believe if Ian stays and we can get the players he wants and sort out some of the other issues that something very very special is be built at Bloomers that will last a long time.

I'm really surprised Sandy.
I understand that expectations have risen and that BFC is a completely different place to what what it was say 5 years ago. Maybe it doesn't feel as personal to you these days and less of local club feel but you and I both know that this is a golden era for the club and it won't last forever. Just think of the football we now play compared to teams of the past. It really is worth the ticket money even if you didn't follow the pool.
I'm sure you will be along to a few games next season and just because you have let go of your season ticket doesn't make you less of a fan. In fact your reasoning means that you feel very deeply about it. Its a personal thing and I respect that.
Keep posting your thoughts though and don't for one moment think AVFTT represents the majority of fans.

It appears AVFTT has had yet another of it's breakdowns. Whether this is due to Karl having the server socket in his front room next to his 128"LED Screen is yet to be discovered. Sandgrown, it is a sad day indeed, although I agree with some of your thoughts. I have followed Pool through thick and thin, not as a season ticket holder, but as a get to any matches I can person. The internet has made it an easier place to follow the Pool, but also for the fool to follow the Pool. I am gobsmacked nowadays at what crap comes out when we lose, draw, or even win a match by less than X goals. There are also those who pick a target and like a shark, never give up. regardless of performances or the fact that they are playing in Tangerine. I managed to get to Wembley at the last minute, although I shouldn't have done, because it means so much for me to be there supporting the team. I came away gutted, but happy that we played so well (again) and should have won. I also had a day out with lots of genuine Pool fans. I probably won't go to another Pool game until I find work again, but I will not be joining the serial moaners. If I watch a game, I will tell it like I see it, and if we continue in our present lofty position in the arena of football, I will be happy as Larry used to be when he managed us. However, I will still be a follower if we descend lower, (but maybe ScroogeKarl may get some more of my stick)

I think we have been really spoilt the last few years and long may it continue but if not will always be cheering the boys in tangerine on.
Maybe i should ask Karl for a itstangerine section just for us in the 53 area of the west stand as i hear its rather empty this time round.

Many thanks for your comments guys. I probably didnt explain myself too well but I can see you get the gist of what I am about.
Lovely to read about you and your boy Sher, thats what it is all about. I have taken countless kids to their first Pool game over the years and I am pleased to say the majority still go. Once they had the Tangerine stardust sprinkled over them there is only one team in the world for them.
Gonna watch from afar for a while and get my fix on here. I wont be going to any other forums thats for sure. The last thing I need right now is to listen to those tossers at AVFTT.
Had a chuckle this morning roadchef. I found your mobile number in my phone and was a bit confused at first until I realised I put in there before I travelled to Wembley in case any of our party dropped out. Really glad you managed to get there mate.
Cheers guys

ha ha, cheers sandgrownun, wouldn't have missed it for the world, but almost did!!!!! Making a decision at 10.30am and getting on a coach at 11.20 am was one of my most unusual impulsive moments ;D
