Nice idea from the chairmen of the clubs, but just how are you going to enforce it or get the message through?
Football League chairmen have announced a plan to eradicate cheating and gamesmanship from the game.
They have also agreed to tell their managers and players to cut out diving, time-wasting and feigning injury.
The 72 clubs, meeting at their summer conference, voted unanimously to back proposals put forward by Exeter City chairman Edward Chorlton to encourage sportsmanship and curb gamesmanship in matches.
A statement from the Football League said: "Clubs will undertake to instruct managers, coaches and players accordingly - in particular to discourage actions which bring the game's reputation into disrepute, such as: showing disrespect to match officials; those actions that undermine a sporting culture including diving/simulation, time wasting and feigning injury."
The League want referees to support the initiative by cracking down harder on players who obstruct the quick taking of free-kicks and steal ground at throw-ins.

You are so right, even our fine upstanding players were taught last season by Howard Webb, when to go to ground.
The thing that does get me, and it links this to the Birmingham, thread, your latest rumour, etc, is the shear hypocrisy of these blokes ( think they are all male) who are club chairman, and see nothing wrong with saying one thing and doing another.
It's like Fat Sam advertising Weightwatchers LOL

It would never work asking the players to play fair but it would if football brought in citing as used in rugby. When reviewing the game players shown to have cheated would be subject to suspensions/fines, that would then soon cut out the blatent cheats as they would end up suspended so much their clubs would then not tollerate their antics.

valid point but do you trust the review board to get it right even when they review it. One thing i like is they have the ref miked up and it has cut out the cursing at the ref plus the ref explains why he has given a decision
