Some aspects of Saturday were back to the dark days of the later 70's, which surprised me, maybe that is more my naivety than anything else. Running fights, attempts to crash into the entrance near me, some of the language and abuse. Many fans reporting stuff thrown at them from above, poor stewarding ( if would have been a piece of cake to take anything inot the stadium, my rucky wasn't even checked as I told the bloke I'd already ditched my drink bottle). Anyway, the big difference between them and us was glaringly obvious. They were 95% men between 15 and 55, never saw a single kid, and very few women. whereas ours are mums and dads, kids, grannies and grandads, as well as the lads and lassies. I suppose they behave like a lads night out, no boundaries, and casual abuse and violence. Such a shame, heard a lot of folk saying they wouldn't dream of bringing the kids again, please let's not allow the idiots tkae away our family club atmosphere.

I have read a lot of same comments as well that they managed to take the game back to the late 70's early 80's and it has put a lot of families going ever again should the opportunity arise its a crying same for the game and true fans.
I truly believe we are one of the few clubs that is a family club followed by fans of all ages not a bunch of morons who seem intent on living out the film that was made about them.

I'd sum the West Ham scum (not going to dignify them by calling them fans) up in 5 words
"A Bunch of Sock Cookers" . . . .more or less

Just to add my two'pennorth re West Ham fans at Wembley. Bit of a mixed bag really. Shook hands and had a chat with some lovely people in Claret and Blue and there were mutual good luck wishes and some great banter. On the other hand, as we were walking up to the turnstiles, two West Ham fans were walking in with some Blackpool fans who they obviously knew and I pointed out that they should be going into their own end. Got a bit of abuse and told I was a trouble maker. (I was once back in the day to be fair but cant be bothered now) In the bar area at half time a couple of West Ham fans picked a fight with my nephew - they lost - and a good day was starting to go sour. One of my nieces on her first trip to see the Pool was knocked over when a fight started in the seats next to her. Poor kid was terrified. When you have West Hams openly walking into the Blackpool end in their colours and they arent stopped, questions should be asked of the Wembley officials. Questions and more should be asked of dick head Blackpool "fans" openly selling tickets for a big profit to the opposition. But we knew these tickets were going into the wrongs hands earlier in the week didnt we? It was all so, so avoidable but lets hope lesson can be learnt. UP THE POOL
