Got to admit i was gob smacked at how well england did. yeah not fast paced or going all guns blazing. Just a fantastic solid performance and every one of them gave 100 percent.
Still think we miss that something special in the middle but can not complain really.
Well done Roy on starting by locking down the defense first and then just maybe over the next couple of years you can build a good team.
Bet the press boys are pissed off ;D ;D ;D ;D, after all they been waiting in the wings with the knives since their choice of Harry did not get the job lol

The press do not like the Pool or England, after all the press are owned by foreigners. F**k them all, I loved the game except the ref and dropping 2 points, we deserved all 3. But I have had 5 decades of disappointments with the pool. This one has been bliss, maybe England will make me living in heaven.

I have notice the refs so far seem to avoid getting involved for the first 40 mins and then steadily get worse as the game goes on. is this some sort of new uefa rule? lol
also can somebody tell the refs behind goal to keep behind the line when the ball is active and in play lol

Was I watching the Pool tonight? Grit guts and wanting to win. Come on England. I am a bit surprised there has been no support for or country on this board.

The board is always quiet during the summer as we all recharge our batteries for the next season lol. Think it also reflects the general feeling in england maybe it will grow if and when we make it out of the group stages lol. I thought i was watching the pool last night as well lol even though i think our passing is better than the national side wonder what roy will do now with the squad? personally even though he scored i would drop Welbeck to let Rooney play and also start Theo and I'm still convinced we must have a better option than Glen Johnson

Alderney, fair point about our board. Personally, I am very patriotic, very protective of my country, even with all it's faults. I just have not, for several years, made an emotional connection with a group of over paid under achieving whinging multi millionaires, ie the England team. I have not seen the passion of a Pearce, the do or die attitude, and I have resented that. Strangely enough, last night's gritty win, done the Blackpool way, coming from behind, defending carp from set pieces, and digging out a win, more likely to bring me back, cos it looks like some of them do care. And best of luck to Roy, looks like he has a plan B

Really sorry if I upset anyone. That was not my intention, all I meant was that no one had said anything about the much improved attitude of Roy´s team. The past few years have been a real embarassment to true Englishmen. I for one, as I am sure, many of you are actually looking forward to the next game. Roll on the new season, I am missing real football. UTMP.

I am fine too lol. i probably just worded it wrong. I agree with you as well its just a to see a england team have this sort of new attitude. But not as shocking, as having a manager that showed some passion and desire on the touchline line after years of watching expressionless managers just sit on their large wallets it was great to see Roy show how proud he is to be the manager

I to am very proud of this bunch and have seem to have found some belief under Roy! Yes we don't have some technical players of yester year but we seem very dogged without the ball and one of the hardest to break down but we also have players up top in form and hungry and to me playing without fear and they seem to be working for each other and that makes me proud! Win,lose or draw i have always supported my country and always will but in other years i have tended to let my passion run away with me and thought this time, i'd just let the boys go and do what their good at and expect the unexpected! and it's working! Who knows what can happen in this tournament, lets just enjoy the ride and see where it takes us(where have i heard that before lol!) IRWT! CMON ENGLAND!!!!! Sher can you put a link up on this thread for three lions by lightning seeds & Baddiel n Skinner!!! Listened to it last night before the game and got the heart racing!!

Gutted, but I am so proud to be English. Those boys sweated blood for the Cross of St George. Roll on the world cup, we will be even better under Roy. Up the Mighty England. But even more important UP THE MIGHTY POOL.

I think the BBC pundits were a bit harsh on the lads. I don't mind us loosing when the team tried and gave every ounce they had. we rode our luck but so what .
It must be the first time in years i have witnessed the team totally committed and a England manager who actually cared and showed passion from the bench.
Well done boys well done roy, now you have time to build your team and say thank you to the old guard and move forward with a new fresh team.
