The League Managers Association five-man Performance of the Week panel, comprising LMA Chairman Howard Wilkinson, Sir Alex Ferguson, Joe Royle, Dave Bassett and Barry Fry, were in agreement that this week, the F&C Investments Performance of the Week Award should go to Blackpool following their excellent 6-0 home win against Ipswich Town in the npower Championship on Saturday 25th August 2012.
Blackpool manager Ian Holloway will receive a specially engraved crystal football in a presentation to commemorate the award.
Blackpool won the second F&C Investments Performance of the Week Award of the season, with an impressive display at Bloomfield Road.
An Aaron Cresswell own goal and a Gary Taylor-Fletcher strike gave the hosts a 2-0 lead at the interval. After the break, a brace from Tom Ince as well as efforts from Craig Cathcart and Nouha Dicko completed the scoring.
After the match, Holloway was delighted with the result and hailed the performance of Ince;
"He took his goals terrifically well and he's come on leaps and bounds for us over the past year.
"The transfer deadline doesn't bother me because he's got his dad Paul Ince who understands what is best for him.
"He knows that Tom needs games to develop and he's at a very good place at Blackpool to do that. I had a conversation with his dad and he wants his boy to stay here.
"When we brought him in I was asked to nurture him and to look after him and that's something I'm grateful for."
