If Blackpool hadn't come away with all three points from this clash with Leeds it would have been one of the biggest travesties of all time.
The Seasiders made two changes bringing in Cathcart for the injured Evatt and Angel for Ferguson and were magnificent for pretty much the whole match.
Blackpool started well with Taylor-Fletcher pulling the strings and Gomes showing some delightful touches but it was Leeds who went in front with their only attack of the first half. They won a corner which was headed behind by Baptiste, the second corner was played into the danger zone and headed in by Becchio - a very disappointing goal to concede.
Blackpool didn't let the goal put them off their game and continued to dominate, Kevin Phillips shot straight at Kenny when put through and Ince saw a couple of chances go wide or be saved.
At half time Leeds had a very undeserved lead but it didn't take Pool long to create more chances at the start of the second half, Ince hitting the inside of the post with a great shot from the edge of the area.
There was a bit of a lull for twenty minutes but Gilks finally had something to do when he scrambled the ball past the post after another header from a cross.
Matty Phillips and Nouah Dicko replaced Angel and Gomes and for a while the creative heart had gone but Pool did equalise with 20 minutes to go. Crainey got forward and played in a great cross for Dicko to turn home.
Pool had their tails up and Ludo replaced Kevin Phillips to bring some more creativity but it was Crainey who once again created the opening for the winner with ten minutes left. Crainey played a magnificent ball to Ince who crossed for Matty Phillips to turn the ball in to the net.
Pool saw out the rest of the game with ease and could and should have added to the scoreline. Phillips and Ludo fired over when well placed and Ludo smashed a great freekick onto the bar.
A thoroughly great performance and not even the most blinkered Leeds fan could deny that Pool deserved the victory. Osbourne looked good in the middle and a vast improvement on Southern. GTF had a good game and Gomes and Angel played some lovely balls. Ince tore Leeds to shreds and if only he could shoot with his right foot he would be the finished article and would have had a hattrick tonight.
Two points clear at the top with Ipswich to visit Bloomfield Rd on Saturday.
