Q#194
I am sitting outside a pub in the UK, near to a town which has a well known river passing through it. From where I am sitting there is a canal and to my right the canal passes over this well known river many metres above it, you can walk alongside the canal, but beware you need a head for heights. The river has three letters.
What is the name of the nearby town?

There are many many aqueducts on the canals....but I reckon you are in the Bridge Inn near Chirk, and the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct is round the corner, the \chirk aqueduct, whilst still spectacular, isn't quite as scary.
Believe me Whit, its worse on a boat, to one side is a loooonnnggg drop with no rails. # Oh, sorry, the river is the Dee

Chirk is one way, and Ruabon is the other, the terminus at Lllangollen isn't to far away either.

staying on topic.... ;D
That one was built 207 years ago, the newest aqueduct built in this country is less than 10 years old. Where is it, and what is strange about it?

Pool supporters would have seen it on a few occasions, do you mean on our trips to Wembley, if so that narrows it down to the M6 M1 areas. That's it from me, no idea.

OK, got a busy day tommorow, so will end it now.
The answer is the Lichfield Aqueduct. The strange thing about it is that no boat has ever crossed it.
When the new Toll Road was planned around Birmingham, it's path was going to cross the planned restoration of the Lichfield canal. The government said they would allow works to take place to stick an aqueduct up, but it had to be built before the road was opened as otherwise, the costs would be astronomical. A fund was set up, with David Suchet at the fore, and the aqueduct was installed in 2003. The rest of the banks and canal has not been completed yet, so the aqueduct stands on its own at present.
next question to someone else.

Rob, we've asked quite a number of " sport" questions, but nobody seemed to take a blind bit of notice when they went up. Chef: no football questions: sport, yes but not footie...

Correct Chef, Horse Guards Parade.
For info only; Not to be confused with "Volleyball" that will be held at Earls Court, West London, without the beach of course.

Sport then.......
Ski-Jumping takes place in both Summer and Winter, however, the Winter World Cup events are the best known. Around New Year every year, 4 competitions are held in the World Cup, but also as a separate famous Tournament, known as the... Four Hills Tournament. Which locations are used in this event?
