I saw this in a travel brochure the other day - there's a lovely wee (narrow gauge?) rail line from there to B? or F? in the Alps -
Switzerland.

Never been, but there's quite a few 'nice wee railways' in that part of the world so I believe, one being called the 'Glacier Express' red coloured it is, another the 'Jannerau' or something. 'Great Train Trips'[?] brochures, as we're interested in train trips round Europe.
Question:-
At the age of 18, William Shakespeare married 26-year-old - who?

Q # 125
When was Britain a 'Republic' and who was the 'ruler' of that 'republic'?

Well this is a tricky one as the obvious answer is the civil war and Cromwell but technically we still are a republic with the reduce authority of the monarchy and the fall out from when William IV in 1834 dismissed the Government.
The Monarch has reduced power but can not lead the country any more Her Majesty can at the moment
dismiss the Government withhold royal approval to legislation dissolve Parliament for a the general election appoint the Prime Minister so technically we are a republic lol

Q#127
What is the team against Wednesday......No only joking
In metres what is the height of Blackpool Tower?

|
|
Post by yenilira on Jan 27, 2012 16:54:18 GMT 1
I believe it is just over 500 feet high?
Now, not being that au fait with metrics - I was brought up on good old Imperial miles, pints, quarts, drams, yards, feet, and inches - but I know there are roughly 3 feet to every metre....(for sake of argument)
so I'd say 163 metres, give or take a yard or two?

This is a reasonably easy question and would like to think as you are not correct and there is a little time left, someone else might have a go. To be fair you are not far away, as a matter of interest 3' 3" = 1 metre more or less, ie. 12 metres = 40'.

Looking at it mathematically, it's got to be somewhere in between Sher's answer and mine?
I'd say around 158/159?

This Q. will close around 5pm unless....etc.

If you mean F1 yeni yes will do it again if enough people want to do it. Just found out can only watch the races the BBC are not showing on sky only. so BT customers like me that have sky sports 1 and 2 and virgin media customers are excluded...
