cracking films yeni, but watched them both recently at the moment i am sat here watching Stanley Kubricks 2001 space odyssey which i am ashamed to say i have never seen.
like films that the critics panned as i tend to find them rather good lol and low budget films like shutter island which is a cracking film or girl with a dragon tattoo and not the american rubbish they are about to release lol
Talking of which i strongly recommend Wallander on BBC4 if you don't mind subtitles

Very rare I watch telly nowadays - so much dross which can't bear thinking about.
But thanks for the tip.
2001 also a good film. :-)
Another for you, if you're into that type: "The Bible" (1950s version).
Saw it as a kid in Glasgow and never forgotten it.

Eh, the emicons have changed!
That was a 'wink', nose, and smiling bracket - which was supposed to come out clapping!
Think I'll stick to 606 types. #ok#

In fact, I'd reccommend any good film about the war, the more factual as possible.
Reach, D-Day, Arnhem, Cassino, BofB, Dams - that sort of stuff.
YL.
p.s. Have seen 'Reach for the Sky' about 7 or 8 times, if not more.

The 'Mad Max' series was quite good in a wacky sort of way.
Gosh, nearly wrote 'Mad Minx' lol.
Then there's 'Deep Throat' saw it when it first came out in a cinema near the old 'Windmill' Theatre in the West End. (Don't make 'em like that nowadays!)

One of my favourites is The Long and the Short and the Tall, a war film some years ago, shows how a group of soldiers under extreme hardship in the jungle face up to war and how they endure the realities of their situation.

The girl who played with fire is good. Have you seen the first one, the girl with the dragon tattoo?

yes the first one is far better than the second, it was okay till she dug her way out of the grave, then it was just getting silly
